Harry R. Sherman, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 5, at his Lake Arrowhead home surrounded by his son Greg, daughter, Allyson, loyal dog Coco, and his devoted health care giver, Jim Lyons. His beloved wife Gretchen, pre-deceased him in December 2014.
Dave Charles “Chic” Sugden, 81, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2015 at his home in Rimforest, Calif.
James (Jim) Adams was born in Birmingham, Alabama. As an adult, James started his career at the Riverside County Road Department. He was actively involved with the Boy Scouts of America for many years.
Went home with the Lord after a brief battle with liver failure. Chris was a long-time mountain resident from 1954 - 1998, graduating from Rim High in 1961. She was a long-time member of Lake Arrowhead Baptist Church and then later Lake Gregory Community Church.
Michael David Burdine, born March 28, 1992, passed away in his sleep April 19, 2015. Michael was a kind and loving young man. He graduated from Arbor View High School in Las Vegas in 2010. Michael is survived by his mother Melissa (Louis) Shain, father Michael (Rosie) Burdine, Brother Joshua Burdine and sister Sarah (Chris) Stratdner and one nephew Jack Stratdner. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Michael will be missed by all.
John Thomas Edgar of Plano, Texas passed away suddenly on April 9th, 2015. John was born on April 30, 1969 in Long Beach, California. He grew up in Lake Arrowhead, California and graduated from Rim of the World High School Class of 1988, attended Long Beach City College in 2003 and became a duly ordained minister in 2014. John is survived by his dog Kinsler, mothers, four siblings, 13 nieces and nephews and seven great nieces and nephews. John worked as a professional waiter and facilitated weddings for his friends. He held records while running track and cross country in high school and was invited to run abroad in his sophomore year. John was well known for his friendly demeanor and giving spirit. He was a great fundraiser and helped organizations raise money for Aids research and MS. Patricia T. Puckett of Twin Peaks, California, where she resided for 40 years, passed away on February 5, 2015.
Linda Lee Sloan was born June 17, 1947 in Bedford, Ohio. She passed away peacefully on January 25, 2015 in Fort Stockton, Tex. Linda was a long-time resident of the mountain community. She worked at the Cedar Glen Trading Post and Saddleback Inn, and also cleaned houses for many of the Lake Arrowhead residents. She was a foster mom to over 250 children. Preceded in death by her oldest son Robert Sloan, she is survived by her son Shawn Sloan of Valley of Enchantment, daughter Tonya Stock of Garden Grove, daughter Amber Percel of Washington, daughter Angel Minor of Lubbock, Tex., son Alex Wilson of Idaho, daughter Carolyn Sloan of Dallas, Tex., daughter Aryana Sloan of Fort Stockton, Tex., 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild, leaves behind many friends and foster children to whom she gave her love and opened her heart. Memorial services will be held at 11 AM on March 14 at Mountain Calvary Lutheran Church in Crest Park, Calif.
Gayle Irene O’Bosky of Lake Arrowhead California passed away at home in the loving arms of her family on March 4, 2015. She grew up in Los Angeles, California and graduated at Westchester High School. She was faithfully married to Reginald O’Bosky for over 50 years; and is also survived by her sons Reginald and Eugene, her four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Art Krause, beloved husband, father and friend peacefully passed on February 20, 2015. Art was born in Pueblo, Colo. December 22, 1923, moved to San Bernardino, Calif. as a young boy and resided there, graduating from San Bernardino H.S in 1942 with the distinguished Helms All C.I.F. Award for running guard. Art and 11 of his other buddies then joined the United States Coast Guard to protect and fight during WWII. Art married his beautiful wife in 1948 and moved his family to the Lake Arrowhead area (Twin Peaks, Calif.) in 1955 where he retired from the Southern California Edison Co. in 1982 after 36 years as a foreman, working with so many fine people such as Don Parmelee, Dale McNulty, Dusty Beehler and many, many more. Art belonged to the Rim of the World American Legion Post 360. He has been a three-year resident in Whitehall, Mont. where he joined the American Legion Post 24.
Margaret “Peggy” Olivas passed away January 15, 2015 after a short illness. She was born in Buffalo, New York on August 30, 1927. She moved to California in 1955 as a widow with seven-year-old twin boys, Dennis and Michael Bennett. She lived in Crestline for 45 years.
William Roger Whetstone of Lake Arrowhead passed away in November 2014. Born January 25, 1934 in Ohio, he dedicated his life to healthcare, education and research, beginning as a nurse in the U.S. Air Force in the 1950s. He was still teaching in the nursing program at California State University, Dominguez Hills at the time of his passing, having never retired. He earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Duquesne University, a Master’s of Public Health and a PhD in Higher Education from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Master’s of Nursing in Mental Health from the University of Michigan. He enjoyed foreign travel, the opera and playing his harp. He will be missed by his longtime colleagues and the students he inspired, his family and many friends around the globe. After a long and valiant battle against cancer, Lake Arrowhead resident, Scott Paul Hughes passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2015. He was 62 years old.
As many of you already know, Roger Swedlow passed away on January 16 in his home in Lake Arrowhead. We will celebrate his life in a memorial service scheduled for July 18 in the mountains. We hope that you will join us.
Terri passed away peacefully on January 16th in her home in Yucaipa, Calif. with all her family by her side after a brave battle with severe rheumatoid arthritis. Terri was born in San Bernardino, Calif. on July 24, 1959 to Ron and Lena Rawls. She attended Fontana High School where she met her husband-to-be Ed Legliu. Shortly after Terri and Ed were married they moved to Lake Arrowhead where they raised their three children.
Winston Irvin Waters, 96, of John Day, Ore. died Dec. 21 at Blue Mountain Care Center in Prairie City, Ore. There will be no services.
William Hansen passed away in Gilroy at the age of 92. He was born in Taft, Calif. and lived in Morgan Hill for 19 years. He married his wife, Leona, in 1942 in Las Vegas, Nev., was a plumbing contractor, taxi driver and worked in a liquor store. He was a member of The Lions Club, The Elks Club and the American Legion.
Robert Paul Tucker, 85, passed away peacefully at Solvang Friendship House on January 7, 2015, after a long illness. He was born in Elgin, Ill. on July 2, 1929, to Raymond Paul and Lora Fern Warner Tucker. Bob attended grammar school in Elgin and graduated from University City High School in St. Louis, Mo. He joined the US Air Force on October 24, 1951, and was stationed at Air Force Far Eastern Command Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan. His experiences there instilled in him a lifelong love of Japanese culture. In December of 1953, he was honorably discharged and joined his family in Santa Barbara, Calif.
Gretchen R. Sherman passed away December 19, 2014, at Mountains Community Hospital. Her husband Harry, son Greg, and daughter Allysonn were with her. The cause of death was a stroke and cardiac irregularities.
Joseph (Joe) M. Baker passed away in his home on December 17, 2014 in Heseperia, Calif. at the age of 60. Joe was born in San Bernardino, Calif. on July 26, 1954. He and his family moved to the San Bernardino Mountains in 1962 where he resided for 25 years. Joe married Patricia Bennett in 1974, they moved to Apple Valley in 1982 where they raised their three children Amanda (Jennings), Edie (Bostwick) and Theron Baker. He is survived by his three children and two grandchildren, his mother Ruby Baker, brother John Baker and sisters Rebecca Crabtree and Barbara Beehler. He is preceded in death by his father Thomas Baker.
Robert Anthony Caccavale, 75, of Lake Arrowhead, Calif. passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 in Lake Arrowhead. He is survived by Joan, his wife, of 51 years, daughter Rene and her husband, Eugene Chan of Twin Peaks, Calif. and granddaughters Brittany and Kailey. Memorial Mass will be January 2, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Arrowhead with private interment.
Robert (Bobby) Sulentich passed away November 26, 2014 in Fallbrook, California, at the age of 60 years. He was born on October 26, 1954 in Eveleth, Minnesota, to Robert and Shirley Sulentich. Bobby worked as a plumber in Crestline, California for 40 years.
Wayne McKinney Roberson passed away November 19, 2014 from a massive heart attack. He was 65 years old and had been retired for three years. Wayne is survived by his wife Faye, a stepson, Jason LaBounty, Jason’s wife Angels, and two grandchildren, Boone and Wittman. Funeral services will be private for the family.
Caren Dunlop, 62, of Running Springs, passed peacefully on October 28th, 2014 with her family by her side, following a brave battle with cancer.

Raymond J. Bush died October 31, 2014 in San Bernardino, Calif. Ray was born in Newark, N.J. on April 29, 1917. He served in the army from 1943 to 1945. He has been a resident of Blue Jay for about 50 years and is well known in the area. Having married later in life, he had no children of his own. He is pre-deceased by his wife, Madonna, two sisters, Francis Miller and Julia Dzuricko, two nieces, Eleanore Miller and Gloria Donal, and nephew John Miller. He is survived by his niece, Julianne Wrubel, three great nephews, two great nieces, one great-great niece and four great-great nephews.
Mary was born in Annapolis, Maryland to Howard and Mary Schaeffer. Her family which included three brothers, moved to Los Angeles in 1920. There her Father owned and operated a small neighborhood grocery store. She graduated from George Washington High School in Los Angeles in 1933.
Our father, beloved schoolteacher and mountain historian, Stanley Edward Bellamy passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 31, 2014. He was 81. He was a long time mountain resident and was well known among the community, and highly respected by many of his students throughout his thirty years of teaching.

Jim Gorjans passed away peacefully September 23, after a battle with cancer. Jim was a California native and spent his childhood in Southern California, attending Arcadia High School and later graduating from USC, where he was a member of Theta Xi fraternity. He built his 45-year career in insurance sales with Allstate. He had a strong reputation with his clients for his trust and honesty.
Marie passed away peacefully, after a brave battle with cancer, in her Lake Arrowhead, California home, surrounded by her loved ones. Marie and her husband of 54 years, Domenic Pompillio Di Carlo, are now together, at peace in heaven.

Floyd S. Kellner, 87, passed away Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, in Fort Worth, Texas.
Cindy was born in Riverside, California. She was a mountain resident all her life and was a Rim High class of 1980 graduate, currently living in Arrowbear Lake, California. She passed away peacefully on September 15, 2014 at 4:49 am after a long battle with breast cancer.
Lillie Rond Jordan Bookless, born March 12, 1920 in Natchitoches, Louisiana, passed away at the age of 94 in Modesto, Calif. on August 3, 2014. She is survived by her three sons, Doyle, Bill and Don.
Stanley Smith was born in Los Angeles and moved to the mountains with his wife Peggy in 1946 where he was a resident of Twin Peaks for 67 years. Stan was in the US Navy during World War II and the Korean War and retired from San Bernardino County after working 32 years for the road department. He is preceded in death by his son Bob Smith and his wife of 60 years, Peggy Smith. Stan is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Mackie Smith of Rimforest, and his granddaughter and great-grandson, Shannon and Connor Millen of Hesperia.
Clark H. "Chip" Turner passed away and entered God's Kingdom on July 19th, 2014 at the age of 54. Chip was born January 14th 1960 in Richmond, Virginia and spent the last three years in Running Springs, California. He will be missed by his entire family. Randall Paul Stout, FAIA, age 56, Architect, of Lake Arrowhead, CA, passed away on July 11, 2014 following an inspiring battle with cancer. He was born May 6, 1958 in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was a loving husband, father, son, and brother and was a faithful member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Lake Arrowhead, Calif.

Gesa was a long-time resident and civic activist of San Bernardino County and in particular the San Bernardino Mountains.
Ernest William Jennings was born April 20, 1933 in Sacramento, California. He died on July 11, 2014 in Cottonwood, Idaho. He was born to Ervin and Alice (Groff) Jennings, the youngest of four children.

George Ernest Coult passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at his primary home of 48 years in Santa Ana, CA.. A noted accomplishment in his career was the development of Lake Arrowhead Village and Resort between 1980 and 1983. He was joined by past President Gerald Ford, Bob Hope and Phyllis Diller at the celebration of the opening of the Resort. George and his wife Marlene were part-time residents of Lake Arrowhead for 25 years and shared a tremendous affinity for the Lake Arrowhead community. George remained active in Lake Arrowhead for many years, working with his son on the management of Lake Arrowhead Village, enjoying golf at the Lake Arrowhead Country Club and spending time on the lake. Most of all, he enjoyed the many people that he met through his involvement in the community over the years.
Nick Fogg, 74, of Richmond, Virginia, formerly of Lake Arrowhead and Colton, Calif., went to be with the Lord, May 27, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carole; two sons, Steve and Gene; four grandsons and several cousins.
