It all started with a dream of needing to do something for themselves that made Garry Garrison and wife Camille Garrison branch out and start their own business.

Having been partners with an auto shop in Cedar Glen for 18 years, Garry knew it was time for something different. Being a business partner with someone was no longer what Garry thought he needed, and after some time finally decided to leave the shop and start Community Auto Repair Service in Rimforest, along with his wife.

“It was time, and we needed to do something for ourselves,” Garry said. “Our business has taken off ever since.”

On Jan. 2 Garry and Camille celebrated their fourth anniversary with Community Auto Repair Service, and describe their business as a gift because it only continues to grow more and more exceeding their expectations.

“Our business is booming,” Garry said. “We went from having 12 customers in one week to having 12 or more customers a day now.”

When Community Auto Repair Service began four years ago, it was just Garry and Camille running the business. Garry worked as the mechanic and serviced all of the cars on his own, while Camille ran the back office. Since then, the two have been able to hire two more employees that have contributed to the quality of work that the business is known for.

“We have hired two more employees, so now there are three of us working on the cars,” Garry said. “We are happy that our business is doing so good.”

Tom Randal works as a mechanic at Community Auto Repair Service, and has been working with them for about two months now. Jose Lopez—another mechanic—has been with the business for four months. It is a friendly atmosphere between the workers, and they work together to ensure the highest quality of work is getting done.

Due to the boom of their business, Garry and Camille have thought about expanding the shop to a bigger location in order to work on more cars at a time.

Garry and Camille describe their business as a mom and pop shop, and believe that this is one of the reasons customers feel so comfortable with them and rely on them to take care of their cars. Garry and Camille have formed trustworthy relationships with their customers, never promising something to their customers that cannot be done.

“We really treat our customers with care here,” Camille said. “When you treat someone right and make them feel comfortable they look to you again when they need service.”

Garry and Camille are thankful for the community, who, mostly by word of mouth, have contributed to the success of their business. It is due to customer care, respect and reasonable prices that Community Auto Repair Service continues to excel.

“We will give our customers high quality auto repair for fair prices,” Garry said, adding that other than fair prices, “treating people fairly and with respect,” will always benefit you, and your business,

Community Auto Repair Service is located at 26568 Pine Ave. in Rimforest next to Valero gas station. For more information call (909) 336-2886.
