It was 27 years ago that Bob Stuhr, owner of Timberline in the Glen, located in Cedar Glen, decided to open up an antiques shop that would give shoppers a unique, fun and refreshing shopping experience. Considering that Timberline in the Glen is continually undergoing changes, whether seasonal or for holidays, Stuhr mentioned that a shopper will never have the same experience twice, but each one will be great and memorable.

“Our shoppers have a visual experience every time they come in,” Stuhr commented. “We take care of our customers because customer loyalty is very important to us.”

The employees of the shop, along with Stuhr, including Operations Manager Joe Arredondo, Sales Associates Diana Marinke, Pamela McKenzie and Patricia Walker, and Manager Kimberly Shoemaker, “have a customer service attitude,” Stuhr said.

“We like to have a one-on-one relationship with our customers,” Walker expressed. “We like to understand the feel of what they want, and help them find the look they are trying to achieve.”

Timberline in the Glen specializes in antiques, and carries other items like home furniture, decorative accessories, florals, specialty items, upholstery goods and lighting pieces. In addition, Stuhr said that they have been actively selling Christmas items since the beginning of October, including gift wrap, holiday gift certificates, elegant decorative Christmas trees, and more.

“Our items are one-of-a-kind and hard to find elsewhere,” Stuhr disclosed. “That is one of the biggest treats — our customers are never bored in here.”

Stuhr, who mentioned that his parents were passionate about antiques, remembers being around collectors’ items ever since he was little. His passion for antiques can be seen in his attention to detail in the design, look and feel of the store.

Additional services offered through Timberline in the Glen are its 24-hour memo policy, layaway option, holiday decorating and home staging throughout the year.

The 24-hour memo policy is popular because it allows customers to test an item in their home for that period of time, to decide whether it works for them or not. “People like to see how an item will look in their homes,” Walker mentioned. “If it’s small enough to fit into your car, you can take it home and try it out.”

The layaway service proves to be popular, mainly for bigger stand-out pieces, because customers can come in and give deposits on their pieces until they are paid off — ensuring that the pieces they fall in love with are theirs to keep.

Whether it is for the Christmas holiday, Easter, Halloween, or spring and fall, Timberline in the Glen changes with the times and continues to give its customers something to look forward to each time they stop by for a visit.

Timberline in the Glen is open seven days a week, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and is located at 28956 Hook Creek Road in Cedar Glen. For more information, call (909) 337-4200.
