The Lake Arrowhead Village Pizza Deli is one of the oldest businesses in Lake Arrowhead Village and, with its continued success, owners Lisa and Dave Doyle have been updating the feel of the restaurant to keep it looking new and fresh.

It had been about 15 years since Lisa and Dave did any remodeling or updates to the restaurant, and they felt like the timing was right. “We did a total flip,” Lisa said. “We have all new flooring, new lighting and barn wood siding.”

Lisa and Dave were aiming for a more rustic industrial and modern look for the restaurant. Though they have done updates to the place before, the restaurant continues to have the same fun, comfortable atmosphere that everyone knows and loves.

“We brought in some oak as well,” Lisa said. “It is easier on the eyes; we basically gave the place a facelift because it was time.”

Aside from the interior of the restaurant going through an update, Lisa and Dave decided to pay close attention to the outside of the restaurant as well. They worked on repainting, and resurfacing the outside dining area, and with that came the idea of another dining area on the back side of the restaurant.

The idea actually originated almost 15 years ago and, though it was not pursued, back then, it is now a reality for Lisa and Dave. The add-on deck serves as an extension to the restaurant’s front patio, and opens up more seating for the restaurant. “We are blessed to have the deck and the add-on as well,” Lisa said.

The new deck offers a view that is hard to get anywhere else in the Village. The deck overlooks the entire village and the lake off in the distance. Those dining on the back deck also have a view into the kitchen through a big window in the back. The look into the kitchen gives people an opportunity to “be a part of the food experience and people want that,” Lisa said. She described the back deck as being a more intimate setting than the patio dining.

At the Lake Arrowhead Pizza Deli there is something for everyone to enjoy; there is even an arcade in the back for children (or adults) to enjoy during their visit. Customers can enjoy everything from appetizers, soups, sandwiches, burgers, pasta diners, salads and, of course, pizza.

Recently Lisa and Dave’s son, Sean, returned to the mountain and is now managing the restaurant full time alongside Lisa and Dave. Keeping the restaurant within the family is important to Lisa, and she is excited to have her son back as part of the Deli team.
