Dedication, passion, empathy — those are a few of the words that describe Nancy Logan and her business. Logan, who is a Lake Arrowhead resident, just opened Lake Arrowhead Brow and Beauty Bar a month ago in Lake Arrowhead Village.

“I opened up my business here because I love to share my artistry with people.”

Logan is a master stylist who has been in the business for more than 25 years. Lake Arrowhead Brow and Beauty Bar is certified by the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health and licensed and registered with San Bernardino County. Although Logan does it all when it comes to body makeup, her emphasis is on paramedical restoration.

Logan, who is a three-time breast cancer survivor herself, focuses on women who have lost their hair and eyebrows due to cancer. “I can relate a lot to them,” she explained, adding that it increases a level of comfort between her and her client. This work also includes areola restoration for women who have undergone mastectomies due to breast cancer.

Another type of paramedical work Logan does is hair pigmentation, which is used for hair loss or hair thinning. In terms of her paramedical work, Logan commented that every Wednesday she drives down to City of Hope, which refers clients to her, to meet with survivors, in order to discuss the work and procedure with them.

“I had breast cancer and I lost everything and I felt horrible,” she said while describing her experience but, since then, Logan has identified with who she was before everything occurred — due to the work that she is doing now.

Even though there are many body artists, Logan does not compare to them because she has many other qualifications that reinforce who she is. She is a makeup artist with a medical background and an extensive cosmetology background, as well, which helps her in knowing the risk factors in permanent makeup procedures.

She emphasized, “There are a lot of people trying to do this without a health certification...but not me. Everything that I use is disposable. When the health department came by, I passed with flying colors.” This enhances the quality of work that Logan offers.

In terms of her clients, Logan stressed that she is equipped to work with all ethnicities because of having mastered the technique of blending colors.

“I’ve collected tools in all my years of experience, which makes for positive results,” Logan stated. “I have learned to custom-blend colors, based on the hair color of the client, as well.”

While working in cosmetology, Logan became a Master Hair Colorist and a head educator in the field. She has incorporated this into her business by providing hair services for her clients.

Services that Logan offers through her business are —

•Eyebrows: brow microblading/micropigmentation, brow corrections, ombre brow

• Lips: full lips, lip liner

• Eyes: lash line, top liner

• Paramedical work: scalp pigmentation, areola, scar correction and camouflaging

• Beauty enhancements, hair extensions, bridal services, facials

Logan offers free consultations to a potential client in order for the two to get to know each other and become comfortable with one another. “I do this so they get my point of view on the service they are looking to get,” she said.

Those interested should note that Logan is available by appointment only because most of the time she is booked out two weeks in advance. For those who need services for a special occasion, it is important to keep this in mind.

Lake Arrowhead Brow and Beauty Bar is located in Lake Arrowhead Village above Pendleton in the executive suites. For more information, call (909) 536-2769 or visit www.labrowandbeautybar.com and find photos of Logan’s work under ‘gallery.’ Her work can also be seen on Instagram.com under Lake Arrowhead Brow and Beauty Bar.

“When you meet an artist, it is important to look at their background and ensure that they are approved by the health department. I do everything by the book,” Logan concluded.
