After serving the mountain communities’ security needs since 1928, a new chapter is beginning for Lake Arrowhead Patrol & Security Services.

“We have formed a strategic relationship with Tracy and Tammy Jones, who are the proud new owners of the company,” said Karen Baldwin, who has owned Lake Arrowhead Patrol with her husband, Richard.

The Joneses are the owners of Vyanet Operating Group, based in Bend, Ore. Earlier this summer Vyanet also acquired Arrowhead Alarms & Patrol; they have combined the two security firms into one new company—Lake Arrowhead Security—which is based in the Blue Jay offices of the former Lake Arrowhead Patrol.

Vyanet, Tracy Jones said, “has its roots in Eugene, Ore., starting back in 1969. My wife and I bought it from my parents, starting in 1985. Though larger now, we still consider ourselves a family-run business, best equipped to serve the security needs of smaller communities.”

They have branches in Big Bear, Mesa, Ariz., Temecula, Los Angeles and Hawaii.

Jones said their first significant acquisition was just over 10 years ago when they bought East Cascade Security in Bend, Ore. “It is a resort/ski community with similarities to both Big Bear and Lake Arrowhead,” he said.

“While there will be changes as we merge the operations of these two companies,” Jones noted, “our clients should see familiar faces and hear familiar voices, perhaps in different or modified roles.”

As for the alarm equipment, Jones said “equipment is always advancing and we pride ourselves in offering the latest technology. We’ll continue to service all existing systems, while introducing new, smartphone-connected security.”

The manager of Lake Arrowhead Security, Jones said, will be Brad Reid. “He has advanced from technical and sales roles to a manager. We are eager to see him take on this new challenge and work with the Baldwins during the transition and however long afterward they remain active in the business.”

“We are pleased to be moving forward with Tracy and Tammy,” Karen Baldwin said. “Our employees will remain intact, including myself in a leadership role.”

“We’ve been securing small communities for a long time,” Jones said, “and we intend to continue this service for many more years.”

Lake Arrowhead Security is located at 27249 Highway 189 in Blue Jay (across from Jensen’s). Call (909) 337-2023.
