Lake Arrowhead Chamber Hosts Annual Membership Meeting

The Lake Arrowhead Communities Chamber of Commerce held its annual meeting of membership on Jan. 29 at the iconic UCLA Conference Center.

A special buffet featuring a variety of vegetables, salad, grilled chicken and lamb stew was presented by Chef Brian Good.

Dylan Matteson, director of the UCLA Conference Center, welcomed all the guests, followed by co-chair Tricia Dufour who introduced special government representatives, including Samuel Shoupe from Congressman Paul Cook’s office, Tyler Ferrari from Senator Mike Morrell’s office, Shannon Dunkle from Assemblyman Jay Obernolte’s office and Lewis Murray from Supervisor Rutherford’s office.

Followed lunch the program continued at the Pineview meeting room where desserts were served.

Co-chair Dufour first thanked retiring directors John Connor, Grant Dunning and Terry Ebert.

Dufour then introduced the 2020 directors: Gary Ellis from Ellis Management Consulting, Hollee Haines from Inland Empire 66ers, Sondra Hughes from Sondra’s Wild Sophistication & Tattle Tails, Matthew Kallis from Lake Arrowhead Film Festival, Dylan Matteson from the UCLA Conference Center, Linda Miller from Bill’s Villager, Patty Teachout from SkyPark & Mountain Country Realty, Ken Witte from Skyforest Elks Lodge, Louise York from LouEddie’s Pizza & Brewery, Mike Zweber from Z Painting and Carol Banner as Lifetime Board Member.

Winners of the 2019 Taste of Arrowhead were also recognized. Present were BIN 189 team who accepted the Best Fine Dining & Best Table Presentation. Louise York was also present to accept the Best Appetizer award. Kaitlin Krumwiede from Sycamore Ranch accepted the Best Wine award and Rebecca Kottman and Steve Valentine accepted the Best Dessert award for Pali. Absent were The Lakefront Tap Room for Best Casual Dining & Best Signature Drink award, and The Grill for Best Specialty Dining award.

Executive Director Robin Bull presented the Year in Review and Chamber’s 2020 goals.

“We channeled a lot of digital programs in 2019 and received 2.3 million impressions,” said Bull. “For 2020 we just got confirmation from the County for $149,000 and we will be allocating a big portion to digital.”

Bull reported that the Lake Arrowhead Chamber website was re-launched at the Visitor Center. She reminded the audience that the Chamber website keeps the community event calendar so members and community groups can check on the availability of special dates.

“In 2019 we also introduced one billboard at LAX,” added Bull. “For 2020 we have commissioned a video which will be a TV commercial.”

Bull also talked about various Chamber programs available to members such as the breakfast meeting, mixers and other classes.

Following Bull’s presentation, Chamber associate Cynthia Capen addressed member benefits and recognized new members in attendance.
