Subaru of San Bernardino; Driving the Success of Youth in the Mountain Communities

Subaru of San Bernardino believes in making the world a better place, which is why they support the Subaru “Love Promise Community Commitment”. Subaru of San Bernardino states, “It’s our pledge to do right by the communities in which we all live and work. We are excited to partner with the Mountain Communities Boys & Girls Club (MCBGC), and help make the mountain communities a better place to live.”

Subaru’s Love Promise Community Commitment is not about check writing, it’s about the real ways the support of Subaru of San Bernardino impacts those who benefit from the Mountain Communities Boys and Girls Club, and other beneficial nonprofits that Subaru of San Bernardino is partnered with. The mission of the MCBGC is, “To enable all young people, especially those who need us most to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.” Subaru of San Bernardino is investing in the mission of the MCBGC to benefit those who need us most.

On April 12, 2019, the Subaru of San Bernardino dealership was bustling with action as Cliff Cummings (owner of Subaru of San Bernardino), Lance Williams (District Sales Manager), and Mike Salas (General Manager of Subaru of San Bernardino) came together to celebrate the efforts and mission of the Mountain Communities Boys and Girls Club. Subaru of San Bernardino put their money where their heart is by presented a check to Tige Licato, Board President, and Tracylyn Sharrit, Executive Director of the MCBGC. The $23,352 donation is a generous gift to the MCBGC, said Tracylyn, it enables our team to provide essential and critical before and after school programs to families at four Club site locations throughout the mountain communities we serve. The Club sites that will benefit from Subaru’s “SHARE THE LOVE” campaign are Lake Arrowhead, Crestline, Valley of Enchantment, and Running Springs.

The Crestline location has three distinct programs that help families across the mountain: the early morning “Breakfast Club,” the after school program for elementary school youth (1st – 5th grade), and the new “Teen Mentoring Center” (opened in January 2019) that provides before and after school services specific to middle and high school teens. The Crestline Iacono Club has extended hours of 6:30 am to 6:30 pm, which enables families with longer commutes to have high-yield affordable care for their children that they can trust. All three other Club sites listed provide the after school program that start immediately after the last bell rings in school, until 6:00 p.m.

Summer is just around the corner. The Mountain Communities Boys and Girls Club provides a summer enrichment program for families in need of child care programs when school is not in session. The summer locations are Crestline Iacono, Lake Arrowhead, and Running Springs. Each site has different start dates, please contact the Club to learn more. The MCBGC looks forward to serving the needs of families for summer break. Enrollment at each location is now open. If interested, please contact your local Club site, or call Tracylyn at the Boys and Girls Club Headquarters Club in Crestline (909) 338-0418.
