For the past two years, Bob Sherman has been hosting an open microphone night that aims to provide the vibe of a 1960s New York coffee house.

The event features solo performers and acoustic groups of all ages, up to four people per group. Singers, instrumentalists, spoken word, poetry, storytelling, comedy, radio skits are all welcome! There is a PA system set up and a house band is available if requested ahead of time.

There’s no cost, to attend, but donations are accepted for the food and soft drinks available at the buffet table.

The event is scheduled for the second Friday of each month. Sign-ins for the performers begins at 6 p.m and the event begins at 7 p.m., usually lasting two to three hours. There is a break for food and time to socialize with the performers.

The next event is scheduled for Friday, May 10, in the common room at The Lake Arrowhead Community Presbyterian Church; 351 S. State Hwy 173, Lake Arrowhead.

New performers need to contact Bob Sherman and Sue Walker at (909) 337-1279 or email
