5/16/16 (VOE) UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF DRUGS Waters Drive at South State Highway 138. Deputy made contact in front of the Magic 8 Market with the subject, who gave his consent to a field sobriety test. Subject had signs and symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance. Subject said he used speed the night before. He was arrested and transported to CDC.
A felony charge of burglary, stemming from a Crestline break-in on May 5, has been filed against a 25-year-old transient apprehended as he walked with a female companion along a Crestline street at 3:23 a.m. on May 12.
A Crestline woman was due in court for a preliminary hearing Wednesday after her arrest on May 14 for allegedly stealing a license plate from a car in Old Town and affixing it to the stolen car she was driving, before being tracked down and arrested by a California Highway Patrol officer.
What began three weeks ago as a potentially deadly attack on a Crestline man’s girlfriend ended on May 16 with his no-contest plea to a misdemeanor and his sentencing to three months in jail.
Blue Jay resident Robert Allen Shuey was sentenced on May 19 to three years in county prison after pleading guilty to a felony drug charge, but will have to serve just six months of that term behind bars.
5/9/16 (LA) PETTY THEFT 200 block of Burnt Mill Road. Unknown suspect(s) entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle, opened the hood and removed the victim’s car battery and cables. There is no other damage to the vehicle. Total cost for a new battery and cables was $181.
A 51-year-old Arrowbear man was facing multiple felony charges Tuesday following his arrest on May 14 for allegedly beating another man in the head with an aluminum baseball bat and inflicting severe injuries.
Sentencing is scheduled for July 20 for a Running Springs man, already on parole for felony vehicular manslaughter, who pleaded guilty last week to making criminal threats against his neighbor in a case that involved mustard.
Armed with a search warrant obtained because of tips from witnesses, sheriff’s deputies arrested a Lake Arrowhead couple on May 10, recovering items stolen in at least two burglaries and discovering marijuana plants growing in their residence.
5/2/16 (GVL) ILLEGAL ENTRY INTO A DWELLING 33000 block of Holcomb Creek Drive. RP is a passerby who said the front door was open at the incident location. Deputies responded to a vacant residence for sale. The front door had been forced open; shoe prints were on the front door and the frame is broken. The property manager will send a maintenance worker to repair the door and will contact the property owner.
