A citizen who spotted a car stopped on a Twin Peaks street with its flashers blinking last Friday night was instrumental in the arrest of a Lake Arrowhead man who reportedly had drugs in his vehicle's cup holder.
Matthew Carlton Witter, 27, was taken into custody after Sheriff's Deputies Ron Miller and Rob Scribner responded to a call from a citizen who reported stopping to offer aid to the motorist before noticing the driver appeared to be under the influence of drugs.
Twin Peaks Sheriff's Capt. Rick Ells said the deputies found Witter at the wheel of his silver 2010 Ford Escape at Clubhouse Drive and Rose Lane at 9:49 p.m., with the windshield fogged up and his head out the window.
In the console's cup holder, Ells said, the deputies found a baggie containing methamphetamine. Witter was booked at Central Detention Center for transporting a controlled substance, and later released.
