The Rim of the World High School girls softball team hosted the Eisenhower High School Eagles on Friday, April 19, and it was an exciting game.

In the first and second inning, the Lady Scots held the Eagles to only two runs. At the bottom of the second inning, the Lady Scots came alive and finished the inning with six runs.

At the top of the third inning, Eisenhower scored another run, bringing the score to Rim, 6, Eisenhower, 3. The Lady Scots held Eisenhower from scoring during the fourth inning. At the bottom of the fourth, with Rim at bat, they scored two more runs, finishing the inning with a score of R, 8, Eisenhower, 3.

At the top of the fifth inning, Eisenhower’s bats got hot and the game began to fall apart for the Lady Scots. Eisenhower was able to score four runs and another five runs in the sixth inning.

When the game was over, the score was Eisenhower, 13, Rim, 8.

Well played, Lady Scots, even though you were unable to “grab victory from the jaws of defeat!”

The Lady Scots hosted Arroyo Valley High School in their final home game of the season on Wednesday, April 24. Check the next issue to see how they did!
