On Monday, Dec. 9, Rim of the World High School’s girls soccer team hosted the Cathedral City High School Lions in a make-up game that was scheduled back on Nov. 20. The temperature was 36 degrees and, as typical for this time of year, there was a strong breeze coming from the north, dropping the temperature down to around 28 degrees.

The Lady Scots and the Lions played evenly for the first 20 minutes of the game. Cathedral City had a short pass and was able to get the ball past the Rim’s goalie and the Lions scored their first goal. A few minutes later the Lions were able to score a second goal, finishing the first half with a score of Cathedral City 2, Rim 0.

In the second part of the first half, both teams played evenly. The Lady Scots, down by two goals, came out more aggressively. Courtney D’Avignon ran the ball towards the right corner of the field, took it to center and then kicked the ball for a goal. Cathedral City proceeded to score another goal in the second half of play and the final score was Cathedral City, 3, Lady Scots, 1.

Come out and enjoy a great afternoon as the Lady Scots Soccer team hosts the San Gorgonio High School Spartans on Dec. 17mat 3:15 p.m.  Bring some hot chocolate, warm clothes and lots of cheers and support for the Lady Scots soccer team!
