Four Rim of the World High School wrestlers punched their tickets to postseason at the San Andreas League Finals, on Feb. 9 at Rim, each earning a spot at California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Individuals. The wrestlers are Nathan Hidajay (106 pounds), Brock Chapman (113 pounds), Ethan Power (138 pounds) and Antonio Holiday (145 pounds).

Antonio, who is a sophomore first-year-varsity wrestler, and Nathan, who is a freshman varsity wrestler, each took second at league finals.

However, two Rim wrestlers became the consistent, shining stars of the team throughout the season. Placing at many tournaments during the season, sophomore Brock, first team all-league, and junior Ethan, first team all-league, both finished their regular season – undefeated in league. Both Brock and Ethan were seeded first going into league finals and solidified their place in next weekend’s CIF Individual tournament. Brock dominated his opponent in the finals with a 16 to 0 tech fall over the former 2017 league champ Reyes from San Gorgornio. With an overpowering victory, Ethan won his finals match against Indian Springs by pin, becoming two-time league champ.

All wrestlers head off to train with other elite wrestlers across Southern California, in preparation for the CIF tournament Feb. 16 and 17 at Oak Hills High School in Hesperia.
