On Saturday, Oct. 12, the Rim of the World High School marching band, directed by Kari Bush, performed in the Placentia Heritage Parade and Festival. The students gathered at Rim at 4:30 a.m. to gather their equipment, eat breakfast and board the bus.

The parade in Placentia was a mile and a half long, with many other bands there to compete! After the parade, the bands and color guards gathered in the center of the festival to hear who had placed for each category.

The band is proud to announce that they received third place this year! In the previous two years, they placed in fifth and fourth, making this year extra-special due to the progress they have made. The band was led by Drum Major Logan Arrowood, who also earned himself fifth place in the mace category! The band mace is a baton with a metal ball at the end.

The band looks forward to the Blue Jay Christmas Parade this year and many more parades to come in the future. The Marching Scots are also looking forward to Alumni and MPH Night on Nov. 1, at the last football game of the season.
