The Rim of the World High School Fighting Scots baseball team competed with Rialto High School at home last Tuesday, April 17, in what was a very exciting game.

During the first two innings, each team held the other with no runs, but Rialto was the first to score at the top of the third inning, with Rim bringing home three runs at the bottom of the third. This finished the third inning with Rialto – 1 and Rim – 3.

The Fighting Scots performed well for those first three, but the game changed dramatically at the top of the fourth inning. Rialto’s bats were hot as they scored five runs, throwing down the challenge as they out-scored Rim, 6 to 3.

Unfortunately, into the bottom of the fourth and fifth innings, Rim was held to no runs. However, in an exciting comeback, as Rim players had their last at bats at the bottom of the sixth, they came from behind with three runs and tied the game.

Extra innings were called, and both teams’ defense guarded their scores until the bottom of the eighth, when the Fighting Scots broke the tie and won the game, 7 to 6!

On April 19, the Fighting Scots traveled down to Rialto High School to battle again, and won with a final score of 1 to 0.

Boys Baseball has a 6 and 2 league record. Their next home game is today, April 26, against Arroyo Valley High School at 3 p.m. Come out and help support Boys Varsity Baseball.
