On Friday, Jan. 30, the Lady Scots basketball team hosted the Jurupa Hills Spartans at home. From the start, they demonstrated determination during the matchup.

In the first period of play, Rim got off to a slow start with the score Rim 5 and the Eagles 17. As the second period got underway, the Lady Scots came out strong, sinking the ball in the basket more successfully by scoring 14 points, ending the first half of play with a score of Rim 19, and Eisenhower, 35.

The Lady Scots came out in the second half and again were outplayed, as they were held to only 6 points. In the third period of play, the Spartans ran away with the score.

With the game securely won, The Jurupa Hills Spartans put in substitute players to offer them some court experience; they still kept a comfortable lead and won the game with a final score of Rim of the World, 38 and Jurupa Hills, 64.  The lead scorer was Liz Salaverria with seven points; both Liberty Mills and Katelyn Reyes contributed six points each, followed by Ashlee Hosking and Marina Almaraz with four points each, and Kailey Garrow, and Liz Veronica Barron with three points each.

Be sure to get to the next game early on Feb. 4, as the seniors will be recognized at this final home game of the season. The game starts at 5 p.m., they will be playing Rialto.
