Tuesday, May 8, saw the Rim of the World High School Lady Scots’ last softball game at home on a beautiful afternoon on the Rim. Before the game began, balloons and cheers floated on the breeze as parents bestowed flowers and hugs on their senior athletes – to celebrate their last home game.

Unfortunately, despite the festive day, Jurupa Hills controlled the game from beginning to end and beat the Lady Scots, 11 to 1.

However, some positive highlights of Lady Scots’ play were performed by three defensive players. At the top of the first inning, Hannah Moss caught a great fly ball. Later in the game, Kaylee Pope focused on catching a fly ball out in right field for the out. In another great play, shortstop Halie VanDyke Pederson fielded a hard ground ball and ran tto second base, scoring the out.

With nine Lady Scots graduating this June, the girls softball team will be looking for those girls who love softball to join and rebuild the team.
