Heavy winds on Sunday morning were too much for a large oak tree, pushing it into power lines and eventually into the roof of a vacation home along the 300 block of Cottage Grove Road in Lake Arrowhead.

County Fire Battalion Chief Marc Peebles said Medic Engine 91 from Station 91 responded to the call and firefighters reported the tree had come down, taking with it power service to the structure and damaging the home.

No one was at home at the time, Peebles said, and there were no reported injuries.

A spokesperson for Southern California Edison said there were no related power outages to neighboring homes.

According to the county Building and Planning Department, inspectors went out to the home and found structural damage to the ridge of the roof, rafters and windows. As a precaution, a county spokesperson said, gas and electrical service was shut off as a precaution. The homeowner was contacted.
